This is a very good app, the only thing is that for free you can only "play" 5 minutes every 10 hours so you can't "play" for long. Other than that, its really good. The paying version is for 33 languages, not just the icelandic, so it must be really worth it if you are into languages, and learning in a fun way.

The free version isn't really... usable, with how it blocks access? You get to learn for three minutes, then it's all ohhh woo look at our paid version don't you want it? which; no idea! you haven't let me see enough of the app for me to tell if it's worth it! also; the thing has an option for Google , or Facebook, and none for just. some other email. so, that's bad.

It's a convoluted flashcard game... can you the translation? Great - but do you what little picture is assigned to that word? If not, then too bad. I understand trying to connect a word to a concept, but you only get the iclandic word and a picture for an abstract concept like "thank you" or "I love you" if you mix up the pictures then learning breaks down

Learning icelandic using this app makes it fun, wanting me to actually go (trying to save money). I used to "learn" Spanish at school but was difficult, this app actually makes me want to learn the language in a fun game-like way instead of just doing it for grades. I would strongly recommend for those interested in any language. (Icelandic is tough from what I hear when it comes to conjunctions and what not).

Edit: WHAT IS GOING ON‽ NO NO NO NO NO! Not happy with this new update!! Please remove the constant "5 in a row!" messages. They're really annoying & very distracting! :( Who even asked for this‽ Please remove it or make this "feature" optional, because it is pointless & actually ruins the learning-zone experience due to the constant interruptions. // Favourite language app. I started using this many years ago with Esperanto & Korean. I'm currently at 2,000 Icelandic words. Takk Fyrir!

I enjoy learning the language word by word, but I feel that the ability to choose the topic you are learning can lead to jumping of a cliff when there is a trail the leads down. I learned how to ask where a restaurant is, before I learned the word for restaurant. That is an example of leaping before looking if I have ever heard of one. I'm a little over a year in and I'm looking forward to the next year. It's my only option or icelandic that doesn't put me on the streets

it's hard to find a language learning app that covers Icelandic, so kudos, but Drops only covers vocab, which isn't actually how language works. Especially in Icelandic where nouns decline differently depending on useage. Without grammar, a bunch of vocab is helpful if you are a bumbling tourist, but useless in actual conversation. Lucky for s of this App, most Icelanders speak English fluently.

I'm 4 days in. It seems very good but it hasn't given me any new words for a couple of days - despite me using it twice a day with 100% accuracy. It seems to be more focused on targeting me with upgrade offers... Also, I think the upgrade price of £139.99 is extortionate. I've bought a book+CD off eBay instead for less than a tenth of that price - which will also teach me essential grammar.
