I am a subscriber to the Atlantic, have been for about 8 years; I thoroughly enjoy the magazine. But, this app of theirs is as buggy as a roach motel. It crashes multiple times a day, loses my place in articles -audio and written- if I don't leave the app open and running on my device's screen, you know, that prevents me from doing anything else on my device. Repeatedly crashing is unexcusable in today's digital age.

I like to listen to audio of stories when I drive. Unfortunately, the stories always stop playing after the initial commercial for me, even when there's wifi. I wish they could make this feature more like Spotify, where the play feature actually works and keeps playing even when not on the app screen. I did the trial subscription and will be canceingvwhenit ends due to this.

Atlantic is great mag. But the app has some issues. You can not share/gift an article from the app. I have to go to the regular website to do this; which is very inconvenient. The irony here is that if I could share/gift articles more easily, more people would likely sign up for paid subscriptions. Go figure???

There have been a lot of improvements to the app and I'm really enjoying it. I love reading the long form journalism and also playing the crossword puzzles. One improvement suggestion I have is that the crosswords have a dark mode. I play at night and brightness is very jarring.

Every time I touch the feed it flickers. Your app is not properly handling touch events and it feels like watching a horror movie. Also I signed up with my Google on the web but your app doesn't Google sign in. That's not very hard to add and crazy to leave out. I had to for to help and get an email to . Please get it together Android team because the writing is great and important.

Notification links often don't actually redirect to the article in question; just the last open article. Also, the option to gift an article from the app really needs to be added. Currently you have to open a separate browser and to do so. The content is great, but the app needs work.

It would be super awesome if every time I got a notification for an article, clicking on the notification actually brought me to that article. Instead of the one I was previously reading. Or the homepage, which somehow never has the article that was on the notification. Or the actual name of the article is so far removed from what came up in the notification it's impossible to find. I love the Atlantic's articles. When I can actually find the ones I'm looking for.

Huge miscommunications between notifications, previously opened content, etc. Let's say I click a notification and it manages to take me to the d article (not always the case), then I'm reading it and get distracted by something IRL and come back 20 minutes later. That article is nowhere to be found. Takes me back to the latest headlines (the one I was reading has somehow disappeared) and even if I type the headline word for word in search, it will NOT come up. App is just a mess.
